The Next Steps
Finding a psychologist and beginning therapy can often be a daunting and stressful process. When we choose a mental health therapist (psychologist or counsellor), it is important to consider the professional’s professional qualifications, expertise, and experience. An essential ingredient for therapy success is that you feel comfortable with the therapist and that it is a good ‘fit’ for you. An effective psychologist or counsellor is someone we feel at ease talking to, who hears and understands our concerns, and who has the clinical skills to guide us along our journey of personal growth, recovery, and wellness.
Dr. Dueck encourages you to read through her website for more information about herself, her services that she offers and the fees, as well as the FAQ section, which covers many of the common questions that clients have when they are seeking therapy. A resource section provides links to various mental health websites and community services.
If you have any other questions about her services or would like to book an initial appointment with her, please contact Dr. Dueck directly by phone or email. If you are interested in going forward with Dr. Dueck, the next step will be to set up a 15-minute telephone consult (no cost) to determine whether she may be a good ‘fit’ for you. If it seems that Dr. Dueck is unable to provide services (e.g., due to not likely being a good match, your treatment needs are out of her scope of practice, her waitlist is too long, or other factors), she will try to find alternative services and providers for you to seek out.
As of June 1, 2024, Dr. Dueck's wait list is currently 4 to 6 months and is closed to avoid treatment delays. Her estimated waitlist times will continue to be regularly updated on this website.
If you are a first responder, health care, or veterinary worker, or a WSBC case manager or LTD rehabilitation specialist/consultant, please contact Dr. Dueck for more information about reserved appointments available.
